We reached Hadseløya by sea on the first expedition, so we resolved to take an aerial approach on our return. On Saturday, April 14, 2001, we curved down across Børøya, the island suburb of Stokmarknes, and headed toward the airport at the far end of the bridge over Langøysundet.

The first visit occurred in the waning days of a northern summer. Now in April on the eve of Easter, the sun had returned but winter still dominated the landscape.
